WUMAN Weihnachtsgrüße
Ein herausforderndes Jahr neigt sich dem Ende zu. Trotz alledem blicken wir dankbar auf ein erfolgreiches Jahr bei WUMAN zurück:
Unter anderem feierten wir dieses Jahr unseren dreijährigen Geburtstag, Prof. Dr. h.c. Jutta Allmendinger ist unsere Schirmherrin geworden und es konnten zahlreiche Veranstaltungen online stattfinden. Dafür sind wir sehr dankbar. Wir durften viele virtuelle Netzwerktreffen mit inspirierenden Frauen erleben. Auch hat sich inzwischen die „Neu bei WUMAN!?“ Reihe zu Beginn eines jeden Semesters etabliert, das neuen Netzwerkinteressierten die Möglichkeit bietet, WUMAN und die Mitglieder ungezwungen kennenzulernen – vielen Dank an Mona für die Idee und grandiose Umsetzung!
Zudem hosteten wir auch erstmals die Woman in Data Science Konferenz in Mannheim in Kooperation mit dem GESIS. Und da wir so viel Freude bei der Planung der Konferenz hatten und so viel positives Feedback nach der Veranstaltung zurückgemeldet bekamen, sind wir 2022 schon wieder mit dabei!
Auch unser online Co-Working wurde rege genutzt und war für viele ein guter Ausgleich zum Homeoffice allein. Ein großes Dankeschön auch an dieser Stelle nochmal an Juliane für die Aktion!
Eine weitere tolle Nachricht: Unser Netzwerk wächst stetig, worüber wir uns sehr freuen! 2021 sind wieder viele WUMAN Freund*innen sowie Netzwerkmitglieder und neue Wegbegleiter*innen dazugekommen! Und ganz wichtig: seit November 2021 haben wir ein weiteres Teammitglied: Lea, die uns im Backoffice mit viel Motivation und Geduld zur Hand geht – wie schön, dass wir dich nun mit an Bord haben!
Vielen Dank an dieser Stelle an alle, die uns unterstützen - sei es finanziell, ideell, sei es durch den Besuch unserer Veranstaltungen, das Weitersagen oder Ermutigen! Ohne dich wäre das WUMANetzwerk nicht denkbar und auf keinen Fall umsetzbar!
Wir wünschen dir eine ruhige Zeit zwischen den Jahren und einen guten Rutsch in ein glückliches und vor allem gesundes Jahr 2022! Wir freuen uns auf das kommende Jahr, mit allem, was auf uns zukommen wird!

Nachklapp zum Netzwerktreffen mit Johannah Illgner von Plan W
Am 15. Dezember war Johannah von Plan W bei unserem Netzwerktreffen zu Gast. Wir hatten ein tolles Gespräch mit dieser engagierten Frau! Wir sprachen mit ihr über die Gründung ihrer eigenen Kommunikationsberatung sowie über ihre vielen ehrenamtlichen Tätigkeiten. Johannah hat sich mit Plan W auf diversitätssensible Kommunikation von Menschen in Wirtschaft oder Politik konzentriert. Ehrenamtlich ist sie in verschiedenen Ausschüssen und Gremien vertreten und für die SPD als Stadträtin in Heidelberg aktiv. Es war spannend mit ihr über Vereinbarkeit dieser unterschiedlichen Lebens- und Arbeitsbereiche zu sprechen und sie über die Gründung ihrer Firma auszufragen ;) Schön, dass du bei uns warst, Johannah!
Winterliches Co-Working
Das HWS geht zu Ende und du hast noch viele deiner Projekte offen? Du willst in der ruhigeren Zeit zwischen den Jahren endlich wieder ins Schreiben oder Lesen oder Programmieren oder oder kommen? Dann schau vorbei in der WUMAN Writing Group und finde Verbündete* für deine Schreibzeiten. Mona, Juliane und viele andere aus der WUMAN Co-Working Gruppe werden sich hier zusammenfinden um gemeinsam die dunkle Jahreszeit mit To-dos, Schreiben und Gemeinschaft zu füllen, bis es im neuen Jahr bei WUMAN wieder weitergeht mit spannenden Netzwerktreffen, Workshops und gemeinsamen Aktionen!

What? We are looking for support to re-activate CorrelAid's local Mannheim chapter - and this might be you!
Who is CorrelAid? CorrelAid is a network of young data analysts who use their knowledge acquired from study and career to help non-profit organizations better understand and analyze their data. CorrelAid is based on three pillars:
1. Consultancy: In Germany - and more and more in Europe - we play a pioneering role in data analysis consulting for organizations with a social mandate.
2. Networking: We connect young and dedicated data scientists and provide them with a platform to apply and expand their knowledge.
3. Dialogue: We also initiate dialogues on the value and benefits of data and data analysis for civil society.
Our three pillars - consultancy, networking, dialogue - should also be implemented on a local level, with the focus being on local opportunities. First of all ambitious and data-affine people should find each other. Whether you bring mainly local people together and train them (networking), conduct local projects (consultancy) or discuss the relationship of data and society (dialogue) - you are free in your choice.
What is a local chapter? Our local chapters are a central component of our work at CorrelAid and the first point of contact for many of our volunteers. From exchanges with like-minded data enthusiasts to their own Data4Good projects, our local chapters realize our mission at CorrelAid on a local level throughout Germany and now even in our neighboring countries. WUMAN Christmas greetings
A challenging year is drawing to a close. Despite all this, we look back with gratitude on a successful year at WUMAN:
Among other things, we celebrated our third anniversary this year, Prof. Dr. h.c. Jutta Allmendinger became our patron, and numerous events were held online. We are very grateful for this. We were able to experience many virtual network meetings with inspiring women. Also, the "New at WUMAN!?" series at the beginning of each semester, which offers new networkers the opportunity to get to know WUMAN and its members in an informal way - many thanks to Mona for the idea and grandiose implementation!
We also hosted the Woman in Data Science conference in Mannheim for the first time in cooperation with GESIS. And since we had so much fun planning the conference and received so much positive feedback after the event, we will be back again in 2022!
Our online co-working was also actively used and was a good balance to the home office alone for many. A big thank you again to Juliane for the action!
Another great news: Our network is growing steadily, which we are very happy about! In 2021, many WUMAN friends as well as network members and new companions joined us again! And very important: since November 2021 we have another team member: Lea, who helps us in the back office with a lot of motivation and patience - how nice that we now have you on board!
Many thanks to all who support us - be it financially, ideally, by visiting our events, spreading the word or encouraging us! Without you, the WUMANetwork would be unthinkable and definitely not feasible!
We wish you a quiet time between the years and a happy and above all healthy year 2022! We look forward to the coming year, with everything that will come our way!

Follow-up to the network meeting with Johannah Illgner from Plan W
On December 15, Johannah from Plan W was a guest at our network meeting. We had a great conversation with this dedicated woman! We talked to her about founding her own communications consultancy as well as her many volunteer activities. Johannah has focused on diversity-sensitive communication of people in business or politics with Plan W. She is a member of several committees. She volunteers on various committees and boards and is active for the SPD as a city councilor in Heidelberg. It was exciting to talk to her about reconciling these different areas of life and work and to ask her about the foundation of her company ;) Great to have you with us, Johannah!

The HWS is coming to an end and you still have many of your projects open? You want to finally get back into writing or reading or programming or or in the quieter time between the years? Then drop by the WUMAN Writing Group and find allies* for your writing times. Mona, Juliane and many others from the WUMAN Co-Working Group will come together here to fill the dark time of the year with to-dos, writing and community until the new year at WUMAN continues with exciting network meetings, workshops and joint actions!

What is a local chapter? Our local chapters are a central component of our work at CorrelAid and the first point of contact for many of our volunteers. From exchanges with like-minded data enthusiasts to their own Data4Good projects, our local chapters realize our mission at CorrelAid on a local level throughout Germany and now even in our neighboring countries. Tasks.
In consultation with the Executive Board and department management, you will develop a diversity strategy for DIW Berlin that is tailored to the company's needs and be responsible for its implementation (diversity management). This includes, in particular, the planning, application and implementation of a certified external diversity audit.
