A recommendation: Moonage Daydream

The best David Bowie documentary you'll ever see!! Now playing in IMAX theaters worldwide is Oscar-nominated doc filmmaker Brett Morgen's latest mind-melting cinematic experience - Moonage Daydream, a biopic doc about the life and times of British musician David Bowie. It's more of a kaleidoscopic, journey-deep-into-the-mind, psychedelic, mind-expanding experience than a biography about Bowie, which is why I've been recommending it to everyone to watch. It initially premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and has been touring around other festivals, now playing on the big screen around the world and it's a MUST see in the cinema. This is the fully immersive, life-changing experience you can only get at the movies. Even if you're not the biggest Bowie fan (hey, like me!) this is still an exhilarating and invigorating film to watch - I learned so much about him, came to appreciate him even more, and most importantly walked out of it having gained so much to consider from David's wisdom about how to live and how to make the most of our time this planet. Don't miss this documentary film on the big screen while it's still playing.

David Bowie was born in 1947 in Brixton as "David Robert Jones", and lived for 69 years on this planet, leaving a generous amount of music and art that will live on forever and connect with people throughout time and space. Sanctioned by the Bowie estate, this film is a "cinematic odyssey exploring David Bowie's creative and musical journey." I wrote in my review from Cannes (Opens in a new window) earlier this year: "Emerging from the cinema it's like entering a whole new world, with a new outlook on life and fresh perspective. It's a mind-melting, cosmically existential journey through Bowie's existence & endlessly wise mind. The epitome of a cinematic experience in every way... It's about being inspired by the beauty of life, by the things that surrounds us. He discusses at one point how he surrounded himself with everything besides music to inspire his creativity; its the kind of life we should all aspire to live." The best way to see this film is with the intense, booming sound of the IMAX speakers - feeling the power of his words and his music, radiating his wonder through the screen and into our brains. This one is worth the price of a ticket to watch in the cinema.
