Read the issue, listen to the songs… Your Summer '23 playlist is here

Taking you on a musical journey through the Summer 2023 issue of our quarterly magazine

Firstly, a HUGE thank you to everyone that has signed up so far!

We hope you EP and Album members are enjoying the latest issue of the mag. One of the many benefits of switching to this model is that we can communicate with you directly, so please let us know the features you’re most enjoying or anything you’d like to see in future issues.

We’ve made this 40-song playlist to accompany the issue. You’ll find a quartet of cover star Savan Kotecha’s pop bangers, three How We Wrote classics, essential tracks from the other interviewees and artists we’re lucky to have in the Summer ’23 issue (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) of our magazine, and a selection of songs taken from our favourite recent albums.

It means that EP and Album members can hear the songs that inspired this issue as you’re reading through it. Those on our Single plan, just sit back with your headphones on and enjoy a selection of music highlighting the full spectrum of genres we love to cover.

Included in the playlist below:

If Tomorrow Never Comes
“I think it’s just a universal idea that touches everybody who’s either lost somebody or loved somebody. It comes at it from a different angle…” — Kent Blazy

Wither On The Vine
“It feels like a Celtic warrior queen, and it feels like me.” — Freya Ridings

Consume Me In Your Fire (Demo)
“We made four expensive versions of that song, but we went back to the four tracks of my bedroom. I couldn’t beat the vocal.” — Sophie B. Hawkins

House On Fire
“The demo version of that song is completely different to how it came out. It’s this really guitar-driven thing…” — Ines Dunn

Naíve
“I had a girlfriend who was becoming quite famous, and she was going into this whole world that I couldn’t be a part of and was quite cynical of.” — Luke Pritchard

To listen to these regular playlists you'll need to be a member. Members help us fund our work to ensure we can stick around in the long-term.
