Small Business Stories: Vintage Threads

We’re back with our series Small Business Stories! This week, we speak to Vintage Threads co-founder, Charlie Oxley, about his journey as a sustainable vintage fashion house owner.

As consumers become increasingly environmentally conscious, Vintage Threads aims to provide a high-end shopping experience that allows vintage to feel brand new. From careful curation, to their sub-brand VT Rework, Vintage Threads aims to eliminate holy cardigans and bleach stained sweatshirts in the vintage space, whilst working to maintain sustainability standards.

After feeling frustrated with the lack of curated vintage pieces available to consumers, in 2016, Charlie Oxley and Freddie Rose set out to provide a thoughtful collection of quality vintage fashion. Despite hurdles such as the COVID pandemic and e-commerce struggles, Covent Garden and Soho are now home to largely successful Vintage Threads stores, offering refined, hand curated pieces.

Read below to find out how the brand has evolved since 2016, from an ambitious side hustle to a successful business with a talented team and thriving shop floors.
