JR Transcribe: Your Free Transcription Software Has Landed 🚀🎙️

Six months ago we got frustrated with Otter.ai (Öffnet in neuem Fenster). The price was going up and it didn't feel like a good deal for journalists, who typically want to chuck in a load of audio files after the fact. No interviewee wants to see their words appear live in front of them, especially when it slightly mucks up their accent.

Our director Jack made an offhand comment that he could probably build something himself. So, we've held him to it — and are beyond delighted to be launching the beta version of JR Transcribe, now free for members.
