Warfare against Privacy Authority

This is our weekly round-up from Greece.

Privacy watchdog president Rammos did not succumb to government pressure and informed officials of their investigation results, verifying the surveillance of key state officials. A motion of no confidence against the government, tabled by the main opposition, SYRIZA, was lost. Yet, it exposed the government's lies on the issue.

The government has fiercely attacked Rammos for his uncompromised stance on the wiretapping scandal. His character assassination is well underway, initiated by official press releases and continued by government-affiliated newspapers.

Plus, a follow-up for the case of the 12-year-old who was repeatedly raped and forced into prostitution. The child is trying to recover with no state help, and the minister is responsible for revealing where she currently stays.
