Important information about your LWLies membership

Dear members,

In this moment of magazine production repose, I wanted to send you a little missive just to say hi and I hope you’re all keeping well. May was a hectic month for us – we had the fun juggling act of being at the Cannes Film Festival (not a complaint, I promise!), sending a magazine to the printers and gathering vital materials for our upcoming 100th(!) issue. 

Yes, we managed a few tall glasses of rosé to keep things going, but it was a great relief to see that cursed month in the rearview mirror. The creative spoils, however, are a sparkling new magazine inspired by Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, which I think is one of his best movies, and a website jam-packed with reporting on the world’s greatest film festival. So win-win at the end of the day.

One thing we’ve also been doing in this period is thinking about you, our valued members, and how we can both supercharge and refine our various membership offerings in the hope of enhancing the experience overall. The reason we have a membership scheme is that it simply helps us to do what we do: creatively engage with the world of film; offer a service to our readers and help navigate the film industry; make a magazine that is a physical manifestation of our passion for film craft; and just keep the freak flag flying for independent voices in an overpopulated media landscape.

As such, I wanted to take a moment to announce a few little tweaks we’re going to make on the current membership tiers.

• We’re going to be sending out weekly movie recommendations rather than monthly, and they’ll hit your inbox at the close of every week. I mean, there’s enough movies in the world to hype up more than 12 a year!

• Silver members will now also receive exclusive prints two times a year.

• We’re opening up our exclusive members Discord server to all tiers in hope of making this a prime way of communicating updates with all members.
