Video Podcasts, AI, and More — New Steady Features for You
Hey media maker,
Welcome back to the Steady Growth Newsletter! This month, we’re rolling out some exciting new features that give you more control over your content and improve your engagement tools. Plus, we’re highlighting two important Spotify updates that could make a big difference for your premium podcast. Let’s dive in!
What’s new from Steady
Starting this month, you can:
1. Hide your content from AI training
You can now block your Steady content from AI training datasets, giving you more control over how your work is used. To enable this block, head to your dashboard and adjust the settings in the “General” page.
2. Add footnotes to your newsletter
Enhance your articles with additional context or citations, keeping your audience better informed.
3. Receive notifications when memberships expire
Previously, you were only notified when a member cancelled their membership, regardless of when it actually expired. Now, you’ll also receive an email on the expiration day, helping you stay on top of retention trends. If you prefer not to receive extra emails, you can disable this feature in your notification settings (Abre numa nova janela).
4. Let members use the trial function multiple times
Until now, members were only allowed to use the trial function once. Now, cancelled members can use the trial function again. To prevent abuse, this is only possible for members who cancelled a paid membership—not for those who cancelled during a trial period.
Manage and try all these new features from your dashboard.
New Spotify functions for you
Spotify has introduced new features that expand your options for premium podcasts on Steady. These updates also bring new functionality to your Steady podcast, so here’s what you need to know.
📢 Important: To use these features, you first need to claim your Steady podcast on Spotify for Creators (Abre numa nova janela). Reach out to us at support@steadyhq.com (Abre numa nova janela), and we’ll help you through the process. You can check the help article from Spotify here (Abre numa nova janela).
Synced Feeds
Synced feeds have arrived! Thanks to this new functionality, you no longer need to host your premium episodes in a separate feed. Now, you can sync your free Spotify feed with your premium Steady feed—giving your fans everything in one place, all at once.
Keep in mind: this feature only works if your free episodes were uploaded through a platform other than Spotify. If that’s the case, you’re good to go!
Want to sync your feeds? Learn how to set it up in Spotify’s documentation. (Abre numa nova janela)
Video podcast
Video podcasts are more popular than ever, and now, you can offer premium video podcasts through the Steady Spotify integration! Here’s how to get started:
Upload your audio file on Steady and publish it via the Spotify integration. This will create a premium entry on Spotify.
Go to your Spotify for Creators dashboard and find your newly published episode.
Click the three-dot menu on the right, then select “Upload video.”
That’s it! Your premium podcast now has a video version.
These updates make it easier than ever to build a sustainable podcasting business while giving your listeners the best experience possible.
Stay tuned for what’s cooking
This is just the beginning! We’re actively working on even more features to support your newsletter and podcast growth. Keep an eye out for upcoming updates—we can’t wait to share what’s next!
