Episode 39: Wait, Dortmund Can Really Win It?!?!
Dear listeners,
in what is turning out to be one of the crazier seasons in recent Bundesliga history, the BVB is back in first place with one more game to play, after Bayern fell at home to third place RB Leipzig, leaving Thomas Tuchel scratching his head as to why his team fell apart in the second half of the game. Dortmund on the other hand had no problems with their mentality or resilience or whatever you want to call it, disposing of Augsburg 3-0 on Sunday. The other results leave us with several races still open heading into matchday 34: Will Freiburg or Union qualify for the Champions League? Will Leverkusen or Wolfsburg qualify for the Euroleague? Who will join Hertha in 2. Bundesliga next season, with Hoffenheim and Bremen safe, but Stuttgart, Bochum and Schalke and maybe even Augsburg still in the race to at least get to the relegation playoffs against the mighty HSV from Hamburg or smalltown Heidenheim.
Here's our take on this mess, enjoy!
