brussel Waffles & the Meir, anyone?

Enjoy the shopping street mall whilst eating one of Belgium famous waffles! In the middle of the streetn mall there is a small waffle truck that smelt like a fairy tale bakery. I had so much fun trying the famous waffle with whip cream. There a few kinds of waffles,  luikse waffle and Brussel waffles.

luikse waffle is a lot more heavier, their is whip cream and chocolate syrup, according to my Boyfriend it's heavier than the Brussel waffle which was the one I tried, and it was so light you could barely tell you had it, it was light and fulfilling,  the Brussel waffle  is served with just whip cream.

The waffle place is called:

ICE CREAM-BELGIUM WAFFLES

showcased in 1958 at an expo in Brussels worls fair, which became popular.

The Belgian waffle was introduced to seattle, America in 1962 worlds fair. But, it was in 1964-66 That the waffles gained attention at the worlds fair in Queens, N.Y by Belgian native Maurice Vermersch.

Brussel waffles are named after its capital city. Maurice decided to change the name to the Bel-Gem waffle upon noticing that many Americans couldnt correctly pronounce or identify Brussels being the capital city of Belgium.

according to huffpost.com the demand for waffles was so great that Maurice and his family had to hire 10 people to only chop up strawberries for the Belgian sweet.

Meet Maurice.
