Prof. Dr. John Kannankulam ist Politikwissenschaftler, promovierte bei Bob Jessop und Joachim Hirsch über den Autoritären Etatismus (Nicos Poulantzas). Ab 2009 war er Juniorprofessor an der Phillips-Universität Marburg. Er ist Mitglied der Assoziation für kritische Gesellschaftsforschung und Sänger der Ska-Band Ska Trek.
