Hello there!
I am Pablo Held (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), pianist, composer from Cologne, Germany.
Back in the summer of 2018 I started interviewing my musical heroes and peers, giving birth to the critically acclaimed interview series Pablo Held Investigates (Öffnet in neuem Fenster).
My conversation with the legendary Wayne Shorter (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) was the one that got the whole thing started. Since then I spoke with distinguished artists like John Scofield (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Bill Stewart (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Ben Monder (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Joey Baron (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Chris Potter (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Norma Winstone (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Dave Longstreth (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Gabriel Kahane (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), Larry Goldings (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) and many more.
Without a doubt this is one of the biggest learning experiences of my life. It brings me great joy to see that people from all over the world have found meaningful insights in these conversations. I feel that sharing a learning-experience has the power to unite people from various backgrounds.
Producing, editing and promoting these interviews takes up a lot of time and energy besides my extensive touring schedule (Öffnet in neuem Fenster), teaching duties and time with my family.
