Rereading Hammond & Scull’s Tolkien: Artist & Illustrator I came across a small detail of a certain importance if you take an interest in calligraphy in general - and Tolkien’s calligraphy, of course!
These two scholars even decided to add an Appendix on Calligraphy so you might perk up at your ears at the mention of Edward Johnston’s Writing & Illuminating & Lettering.
