Our NEW Fam(Ally) Series with Pete Wharmby & Catherine Asta
Join us for the first in this monthly zoom Fam(Ally) Series with award winning author Pete Wharmby and Founder of The Late Discovered Club Catherine Asta.
As part of this series we will be exploring all things autism and audhd with families, loved ones, friends, neighbours, co-workers, and anyone who is curious and wants to learn more about autism and audhd, so that they can better support and understand their loved one, family member, or someone who is a part of their world.
In this 1.5 hour zoom event we will explore neurodiversity and the aim is that you will leave the session with a better understanding of what the term means, and how it applies to autism and audhd.
What we will cover:
Origins of the term ‘neurodiversity’ and ‘neurodivergent’
What is included as part of the umbrella term
Concept of neurodiversity as opposed to the older, more negative pathology narrative
Why the deficit narrative has had its day
Co-occurence of varied neurodivergencies
General accommodations and adjustments for neurodivergent family members
About The Late Discovered Club
We are on a mission to give a voice to late discovered autistic women and people, provide access to tailored post discovery support, and to help create safer, more autistic inclusive spaces, places and faces.
We have an ambitious 10 year plan to be a global movement that is making evidenced social impact, and changing the narrative and lived experience of autistic women and marginalized groups.

About the Event
The Zoom link will be sent out to all participants 24 hours before the event. The recording will be emailed to all ticket holders 24 hours after the event and will be available for 30 days after the event.
