Fingolfin's Findings XLIV: An Ancient Mappe of Fairyland by Bernard Sleigh.

A map so well-known and so often mentioned it even made an appearance in the Tolkien exhibition in Paris at the French National Library - An Ancient Mappe of Fairyland by Bernard Sleigh (Si apre in una nuova finestra). He was a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA), inspired by the works of George McDonald and William Morris.

So it comes as no surprise Tolkien readers may find something in this amazing map with connections to fairytales and legends and maybe an idea of Middle-earth.

The Internet Archive has a high resolution copy of this available so you can have a look for yourself - or, if you prefer you can have a look at the Library of Congress (Si apre in una nuova finestra) copy.

If you are interested in further reading places like Chipping Camden (Si apre in una nuova finestra) or the RBSA (Si apre in una nuova finestra) should hold your interest for quite a while.
