Reigate welcomes Pride in Surrey
Roller skaters, dancers, costumes and fabulous outfits were all part of the Pride in Surrey parade through Reigate town centre on Saturday (9 September), the first time the annual event has come to the east of the county.
Emergency services, charities, councils, schools and companies, from across Surrey, were among those braving the unseasonably hot weather to take part in the procession from the town hall down the High Street to Priory Park.
There, in a ticketed area within the park, crowds enjoyed entertainment throughout the day, including performances from two stages.
Pride in Surrey (Si apre in una nuova finestra) aims to celebrate, educate and connect the LGBTQ+ community and allies, with the first event held in Woking in 2019, then Godalming in 2021 and Camberley in 2022.
Many took to social media to share photos from the day - posts from the borough council and Reigate Business Guild are below.

Collision outside school in Linkfield Lane, Redhill
Police were called to Linkfield Lane, Redhill, outside St Joseph's Catholic School, on Friday morning (8 September) following reports of a collision between a silver Honda Jazz and three pedestrians.
Following the incident, which took place around 8.55am, a six-year-old girl and a 75-year-old woman were taken to hospital for medical treatment. A ten-year-old boy was given medical attention at the scene but did not need to go to hospital.
The driver stopped following the collision and cooperated fully with officers at the scene, and no arrests were made, police said on Friday.
"We are appealing for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage to get in touch. Were you in the area around Linkfield Lane between 8.45am and 8.55am [Friday] morning? Did you witness the collision or do you have any information that may assist our investigation? "
