Our first guest in 2023 will be Dr. Ashley Ruba (Opens in a new window) (she/they). We're happy to announce that Dr. Ruba will join us for an online event to give input on the topic "Moving from Academia to UX". There is plenty of time for Q & A planned so bring your curiosity! This event will be held in English.
About Ashley Ruba
Dr. Ashley Ruba received her PhD in Developmental Psychology and is now a UX Researcher at Meta Reality Labs. She spent over a decade in academic research (with dreams of becoming a professor) before pivoting to UX in 2022. In her talk, she will discuss why she "left" academia, what she does as a UX Researcher, and how graduate students can network and apply for jobs outside of academia.
