Fingolfin’s Findings LXXII: The Oxford University Research Archive

You may have noticed that among the many FFs I have been doing for years now there are links to many libraries and archives that have either a) a direct connection to Tolkien’s life and works (like Marquette and the Bodleian) or b) an indirect connection as in research on his life and works or adaptations.

This one is pretty straightforward: Oxford University as a whole has an archive of the work being done at Oxford, even if published elsewhere, so you can have free access to world-class papers and presentations.

Two things, just to start you off with: The server you are going to use has the abbreviation ‘ora.ox.ac.uk’ and I am seriously thinking this is an allusion to the monastic origins of the university - ora et labora (Opens in a new window).

And yes, you’ll find things like this… 😇
