France Rejects Marine Le Pen (Again)

With 28% abstaining, incumbent President Emmanual Macron wins the final round of the presidential elections tonight in France (Opens in a new window)with an estimated 58.8% of votes, beating out the extreme Right candidate Marine Le Pen (41.2%) for a second time. 

They say "estimated" because although most polling stations were closed by 6pm on Sunday evening, the urns remained open until 8pm in big cities like Paris. I was one of the volunteer ballot counters, and thought it rather strange that the announcement of who won was made on French television less than five minutes after the last ballots were cast in my polling station.
