First, let me tell you how wonderful the opening of my solo exhibition in Schallstadt / Black Forest was, end of April. Thank you so much Kunstverein Schallstadt! The exhibition “SPOT ON PROMENADE MOMENTS” will be open until end of June 2025.

Why attend photo festivals?
Dear friends of photography,
Spring brings not only light, but also a wealth of inspiring photo festivals across Europe. I love these special places of exchange, encounters, and visual wonder – whether as a visitor, speaker, or exhibitor. Therefore, I dedicate this newsletter to the question: Why attend a photo festival?
Because photo festivals are much more than exhibitions: They are places where you encounter people, ideas, and perspectives. Whether you want to further your education, be inspired, or simply immerse yourself in the diversity of photographic expressions – a festival will inspire you. And, along the way, valuable contacts and new creative impulses often arise.

Warum Fotofestivals besuchen?
Liebe Freundinnen und Freunde der Fotografie,
der Frühling bringt nicht nur Licht, sondern auch eine Fülle inspirierender Fotofestivals in ganz Europa. Ich liebe diese besonderen Orte des Austauschs, der Begegnung und des visuellen Staunens – egal ob als Besucherin, Vortragende oder Ausstellerin. Deshalb widme ich diesen Newsletter der Frage: Warum ein Fotofestival besuchen?
Weil Fotofestivals weit mehr sind als Ausstellungen: Sie sind Orte der Begegnung mit Menschen, Ideen, Perspektiven. Ob du dich weiterbilden, inspirieren lassen oder einfach in die Vielfalt der fotografischen Ausdrucksformen eintauchen möchtest – ein Festival bringt dich auf neue Gedanken. Und ganz nebenbei entstehen oft wertvolle Kontakte und neue kreative Impulse.

Im April hat der Deutsche Fotorat eine umfassende Broschüre veröffentlicht, die Orientierung im oft undurchsichtigen Feld der fotografischen Berufe gibt. Ob Studium, Ausbildung oder Quereinstieg – die Publikation beleuchtet Zugangsmöglichkeiten, Ausbildungsorte und Konditionen. Herausgegeben von der AG Bildung im Deutschen Fotorat.
