2024, we’re off!

This is the last newsletter of the year! And we’re flabbergasted with the things that happened to us in 2024.

2025 is already shaping up to be our biggest year yet, starting with our Album Release Show at Flucc on 29 April. If you haven’t got your ticket (Opens in a new window) yet, make sure to get them asap! We can’t wait to see you there.

Recap 2024

On 3 Jan 2024, we sat down for our first band meeting of the year (Opens in a new window) and shared our expectations, wishes and hopes for the upcoming months. And this was what our shared vision looked like:

  1. To get a gig outside of Vienna

  2. To play at Waves Festival

  3. To find some cool partners to work with

Writing this newsletter, we’re feeling extremely grateful because all of these things have actually come true!

For those of you who prefer to look at videos, here’s our highlight recap as a short reel:

Fun facts of 2024

Instead of listing everything we did, let us give you a few fun highlights!

🎸 Our first out-of-town gig took place in Wr Neustadt two days after a gig we had in Vienna; we ended up staying with Ralf’s sister in Wr Neudorf (just 30 mins away) just to experience “tour life”.

🥁 Our self-organised Drummer Appreciation Party (Opens in a new window) left Philipp absolutely discombobulated.

📻 We played a total of 16 gigs in 3 countries this year. For context, we played 3 gigs total last year!

Personal highlights

Nicki:

Seeing two random people in the audience at Years End Fest in Manchester singing along and dancing to us playing Don’t Buy It.

Ralf:

Too much šljivovica (plum brandy) with our wonderful sound guy Myron, at SHIP Festival in Šibenik, Croatia.

Elias:

Performing Don’t Buy It for our music video on top of our band bus, Joe, on Kahlenberg mountain as the sun went down and random people applauding us as they stumbled home from the heuriger restaurants.

Philipp:

Pre-drinking before the gig at Club 1019 in the backstage “garage” on top of Joe with other musicians.

Paulina (our manager):

Receiving the news at lunch together that Don’t Buy It would be played on the BBC Introducing Show before it was released.

Dan:

Playing our first international gigs (including a brief spell with the customs police thinking our guitars were guns).

A little present from us

Last but not least, we want to say thank you for your support throughout the year. You’re the first to see this live acoustic version of our song “Letting Go” which we recorded in Lower Austria this October.

We wish you happy holidays and a wonderful 2025!

Yours truly,
ERNST
