End of Year Editor’s Letter

Hey BRICKS Members,

Ahead of the holidays, I wanted to personally thank you for all your support this year. Our Learner Platform has grown phenomenally over the past 12 months and there’s now over 1,100 of you! It’s been so lovely reading over your member spotlight emails and we can’t wait to start introducing you to each o other over the coming weeks.

This year has been especially hard for independent publishers, with the closure of Gal-dem and stories of big media layoffs across the board, by being a Learner Platform member, you have helped us maintain the channel and contributed to our mission of funding the ideas of our contributors from marginalized backgrounds. We honestly couldn't have done it without you so thank you for your continued support. We're overwhelmed by the support and kind words we've received about our content, and we're so excited to share even more amazing pieces with you throughout 2024.

If you enjoy your membership, don’t forget we also offer gift membership (Opens in a new window) if you’d like to send someone a practical present this festive period. We’ve also been working on bringing back our monthly workshop programme with the first scheduled for mid-January, so more on that in the new year!

Our in-house team have curated over 4,000 opportunities for our members throughout 2023! As I'm sure you can imagine, that was a lot of work. As firm believers in the importance of taking a break, we need some well deserved rest. Although you’ll still be receiving content over the holidays, we're alternating our publishing schedule for the festive season with pre-scheduled pieces and our next job board won’t be back until the 3rd of January. There also won’t be any customer service as we’ll be out of office.

Until we’re back, enjoy the festive season, and thanks so much again for all your support.

Tori,
Founder of BRICKS Magazine & The BRICKS Learner Platform
xx
