Fairy Tech Mother Hosanna Hali shares her advice on how to get a leg-up in your next creative role with these essential tech skills.

Six years ago, when Hosanna Hali (Opens in a new window) first joined the technology sector, she had little idea of the impact sharing her industry experiences would have. Having completed her Master’s degree in Computing and IT Management, she was hired by Microsoft as a Technology Strategist and later as Azure Specialist. 

Since starting her career in tech, Hosanna has been using her experience to help guide, mentor and inspire the next generation of Women In Tech. Hosanna has participated in a number of initiatives championing diversity and inclusion, and in 2020 was highlighted as one of the ten influential Black British women who code and break down barriers by People of Colour In Tech (Opens in a new window)

In 2020, Hosanna took her teaching skills to socials. Her warm and relatable style, along with her accessible and anti-gatekept advice, has amassed her with over 170k followers across socials. With her Youtube videos breaking down how she got her job (Opens in a new window) at Microsoft, her Instagram info-graphics sharing her resume dos and don'ts (Opens in a new window) and her viral TikToks chronicling her life in the industry (Opens in a new window), Hosanna uses her expert knowledge and open demeanour to break down the gatekept world of tech and other less accessible topics such as finance, investment and career development, empowering young people in tech and beyond.

As all workplaces become increasingly digital, it’s also becoming increasingly necessary for new hires to be already-equipped with the skills to navigate these spaces.
