Find Your Fashion Career Path at V&A’s Creative Careers Fair This Weekend
This week, we’re sharing more details about Upstart at V&A South Kensington: Careers in Fashion event tomorrow.
At BRICKS, we’re strong believers that “you can’t be what you can’t see.” This means that many young creatives have skills that could be employable for a wide variety of roles in the industry, but without proper education on the roles that they could be applying to, many feel unsure where their place in the industry is.
BRICKS founder Tori West had no idea of the multi-faceted role available to her as a magazine editor until she found herself working in the industry, strapped behind a desk producing near-identical deliverables day-in, day-out. Tori recognised that as someone neurodiverse, she is more productive and more engaged with her work when the role is varied, and when she can be collaborating with others, and this helped her realise that magazine editing was the right career path for her.
So if you’re curious about what career opportunities could be available to you in fashion, or you’re aimlessly scrolling job listings (or our Opportunities Board) and struggling to know whether creative director, digital designer, design manager, art director or “creative” is the right role for you, we think this weekend’s offerings at V&A South Kensington will be ideal for you.
Tomorrow, Saturday 16th November, the V&A South Kensington is hosting a free festival of talks, workshops and networking opportunities (Opens in a new window) to explore new career pathways, learn new skills and grow your network as part of its Upstart Creative Careers Festival (Opens in a new window).
