Greece Pushes Investments Amid Climate Change Concerns

Dear reader,

This is our weekly round-up from Greece.

Climate change sounded the alarm again in Greece as the year's first heatwave hit the country this week - too early in the summer. There is no long-term policy to tackle the problem, and authorities keep approving environmentally questionable ‘investments’ and policies.

An 11-year-old girl was murdered by her uncle after she resisted her rape. The murderer had been convicted of rape in the past, yet he had been released on restrictions. Another convicted rapist, ex-National Theatre director Lignadis, a high profile case, is also out there, released on restrictions quite a while ago. What’s wrong with this country?

PM Mitsotakis proceeded with a cabinet reshuffling mainly to show he received the ‘message’ from the European Elections, in which ND lost some one million votes. Government policies are not expected to change, though.
