Hi, and welcome back to agenda - got plans?, a newsletter featuring a curated selection of art, design and fashion events in Berlin. I'm Kate, a freelance journalist, Berlin local and art/design lover. I hope my newsletter makes it a bit easier for you to navigate through everything this city has to offer.
That said, what‘s happening in Berlin this weekend?
Attend a rave at one of Berlin‘s most famous art institutions
Stop by a pop-up event where looks will be served
Treat yourself to some (affordable) art
Watch performances all over the city
#1 Oda Haliti | Berlin Beats x Hamburger Bahnhof
After last year’s success, Hamburger Bahnhof will continue with the successful DJ series Berlin Beats this summer: A free evening rave in the garden of the art institution on Thursdays/ Fridays.
The opening of the open-air series will be with a set by Oda Haliti on Friday, 7th of June. Last summer, 50,000 visitors celebrated the electronic music culture at the event series, so if you plan to attend, be there on time!

Location: Hamburger Bahnhof, Invalidenstraße 50, 10557 Berlin-Mitte

#4 Affordable Art Market
Looking for some art pieces to upgrade your home? Have a stroll at the Berlin Affordable Art Market this weekend: Over 2,000 artworks from more than 200 artists in a price range of 50 – 5000 € will be on display.

The happening was founded in 2021 as an initiative to make the art market and access to art more democratic. It’s my first time attending it and I’m really excited about the concept.
Friday - Sunday,
Location: Monopol Berlin, Provinzstraße. 40-44, berlin-Wedding
No entry fee but donations are welcome

#3 Afrobodega pop-up event
If you’re up for good music, a beautiful crowd and cool clothing, check out the Afrobodega pop-up at Hallelujah Vintage Store on Saturday night. The last time I went, I was in awe of the artists, the looks (everybody was serving) and the super relaxed atmosphere.
I can also recommend Hallelujah for Vintage Shopping in general. The collection is not cheap but more diverse and better curated than in some other vintage shops in Kreuzberg/Neukölln. I once spotted a white leather Margiela skirt there – I‘m still not over the fact that I did not buy it.
Saturday, 08.06, 19-22:30
Location: Hallelujah Berlin Store, Kottbusser Damm 7, Berlin-Neukölln
More info (Opens in a new window)
Go vote!
With all these beautiful events going on, please don’t forget to vote for the European elections on Sunday ( if you haven’t voted by postal vote yet.)

#5 Preview: Shodō workshop at the Feuerle Collection next Wednesday
Are you as fascinated by calligraphy as I am? Check out the second Shodō calligraphy workshop hosted by The Feuerle Collection on June 12th.
Photo credit: Jonas Beile (press material via The Feuerle Collection)
If you have never been to The Feuerle Collection: it’s a beautiful private collection of international contemporary and Southeast Asian art and Chinese design. The location is unique, as the collection is located in a former Second World War telecommunications bunker. You can arrange a visit by appointment only. I went there last year, and it was one of the most impressive and beautiful staged exhibitions I visited so far.
As a part of their program of activities dedicated to young Berlin-based Asian artists, the Shodō workshop will focus on the discovery of seasonal beauty through the reading of Haiku poems and on studying and reproducing their particular style of writing. You will be provided with all essential writing materials to draft your calligraphy piece.
Read more about the workshop, the writing practice Shodō and the calligrapher Sugano Matsusaki here (Opens in a new window).
Wednesday, June 12th at 2pm, 4 pm or 6pm
