The Way You Love Him❣️
One day, he's going to know.
He'll know your birthday, your middle name, where you were born, your star sign, and your parents' names.
He’ll know how old you were when you took your first steps, ate by yourself, learned to read, or solved your first complex formula. He’ll know about your first love, how your grandparents passed away, how many pets you had, and how much you hated going to school.
He’ll know the color of your eyes, the shape of your scars, the depth of your laugh lines, and every birthmark on your skin.
He’ll know your favorite book—the one you could listen to being narrated forever. The movie you’d rewatch a hundred times just to share it with him. The candy you can’t live without. The food he should bring when you’re sad. The pair of shoes that’s a little too expensive but still lingers in the back of your mind. The colors you love. The ones you can’t stand. The song he should sing for you—or with you.
He’s going to know why you wake up in the middle of the night, because maybe he does too—but you’re just not waking up together yet.
He’ll know where you were when you realized you had lost yourself. Why you picked up the razor. And how you managed to put it down before it was too late.
He’ll know your phobias, so he can help you through them. Your dreams, so he can help you reach them. Your fears, your wishes, your worries—so he can make them disappear, like magic. Because trust him, he has his own, too. He just won’t tell you until you force it out of him.
He’s going to know about your first heartbreak, your dream wedding, and your complicated relationship with your mother.
He’ll know your strengths and weaknesses, your lazy days and bursts of energy, your messy emotions. He’ll know about your love for all things salted caramel. The way you once dreamed of being a vet when you were five. How you have to sing along to every song you know. How growing older scares you—or maybe, how you dream of growing old together.
He’ll know your bad habits, your quirks, the way you pout when you're annoyed, the way your face speaks before your words do, and the sound of your laugh like it’s his favorite song. And maybe you won’t love the way he’s a little possessive—but trust him, he loves you more than you know.
He’ll know the way you chew, the way you drink, the way you walk, sleep, fidget, and kiss. He’s going to know that you’ve already picked out wedding flowers, baby names, bathroom tiles, bridesmaid dresses, and the color of your future bedroom walls.
He’s going to know, get annoyed at, and then accept that you leave clean clothes out for days, that you get nervous ordering at a store, that you have to organize your DVDs by genre, and that you check your horoscope… just in case.
He’ll know your food order.
How you don’t take sugar in your coffee. How many scoops of ice cream do you need? That you don’t like sandwiches unless they’re toasted.
He’s going to know how you feel without you saying a word. When you’re holding back a laugh. When you’re crying without shedding a tear.
He’s going to know all of it. Every little thing.
You.
From top to bottom, inside and out.
From learning. From sharing. From listening. From watching.
And one day, he will know for sure—just how much you love him.
