- Tests have confirmed that there's blue-green algae in the lake at Priory Park. The borough council said yesterday (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) (Monday): "The algae can be harmful to humans and animals and often occurs after periods of hot and dry weather. Please avoid contact with the water. Dog owners should not allow their pets to drink from or swim in the lake."

One of the oldest pubs in Surrey will be turned into houses although just three councillors voted in favour of the plans.

The 16th century, Grade II listed, White Lion pub, in Linkfield Street, Redhill, will be converted into a home with two additional houses built on its car park following the decision of Reigate & Banstead's planning committee last Wednesday (27 September) (Öffnet in neuem Fenster).
