Your Exclusive Playlists for July 2024

…now with added Deezer!

The new Quietus sprite (star of our recent 1 of 100 t-shirt run that will be out to a load of you now – please do share your pics of yourselves in them!) stares balefully at the glowing sun above the word ‘July’ as here in London’s suburbia the heat blares down and we dream of a storm. Why, that can only mean that the summer has finally turned ‘ot and it’s time to send over your playlists of the music covered on The Quietus over the past few weeks. It’s a whopper this month, with over SEVEN hours of music covering anyone from Xiu Xiu to Mica Levi, Batu, Smote, Simon Fisher Turner, Senyawa, Guided By Voices, British Murder Boys, Fu Manchu, Orange Goblin, Scanner, Seefeel, Kim Deal, Pohl, Oneida, Bashy, Overmono and a tonne more. We’ve had a few people get in touch to ask if we can do playlists on Deezer, so there’s a link for that too. In case you missed any of it, your subscriber exclusive content this month was John Doran’s Low Culture Essay on craft, class and his love of high-end denim, the Low Culture podcast on Eurythmics’ soundtrack to the film 1984, and an Organic Intelligence newsletter on the Tromsø techno scene. Find all that in your Subscriber Area here (Si apre in una nuova finestra). Subscriber Plus music, this month from Thee Alcoholics, should be with you around now. Oh, and next week John and Luke will be discussing a Fall album for the Low Culture Podcast and are asking you to decide which one – suggestions to hello@thequietus.com (Si apre in una nuova finestra) if you want to take part. Not Hex! You can find your playlist links below, thanks as ever for your subscriptions – we’re getting pretty close to our target of 2000 by our sixteenth birthday, so if you like what you’re getting, please do spread the word.

To listen to the playlists, you'll need to be a Subscriber or Subscriber Plus member of tQ.
