Anastasia Mishina/Alexander Galliamov: “Pair skating has really grown”

Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov of Russia are probably the most consistent pair skating team in the world. They seem to reel off their triple jumps and throws, their difficult lifts and steps like clockwork. The students of Tamara Moskvina and Artur Minchuk won their third national title in Omsk in December showing perfect performances. Before the ban for Russian athletes, Anastasia and Alexander won the World title in 2021, the European title in 2022 and Olympic bronze in 2022. Limited to competing inside Russia, they have not slacked off.

How can you sum up the season so far for you? It looked very smooth.

Anastasia: We got into shape step by step. Our first competitions did not go so well. We took first place but the performances were not clean. So we got into shape and we improved with each competition. At the last competition (Russian Grand Prix) in Piter (St. Petersburg) we were already in good shape and we peaked for Nationals.
