Hands On, hands Off.

Managers, if you’ve ever had an Autistic direct report I’m sure you’re familiar with this.

In some ways it feels like your Autistic employee is extremely competent, and likes to work with a lot of autonomy.

In fact, they might actively ask you for more autonomy when it comes to things like their process for getting a specific task done. This is because Autistic people often have processes they have worked on over years, that are designed to support the very unique way their brain works.

And yet, in other ways it seems like your Autistic employee needs more support than their team mates.
