Hello dear Good News community,

More and more activists around the world are taking legal action for climate protection. With success - last year, the European Court of Human Rights ruled that Switzerland was violating the Convention on Human Rights because it was doing too little to combat climate change. The activists, called Klima-Seniorinnen, from Switzerland had brought the case. This has now also encouraged Portuguese climate activists to take legal action against the Portuguese government, as one of today's Good News articles shows.

Hormone-free pill for men being clinically tested

Since September 2024, a phase 2 trial has been running in New Zealand to test the safety and efficacy of a hormone-free contraceptive pill for men. The drug YCT-529 has already proven effective in animal studies. It could help to distribute contraception more fairly in the future. Source: SCIENCE ALERT

Portuguese climate activists file lawsuit against government

Four Portuguese climate activists have filed a climate lawsuit against the Portuguese government at the European Court of Human Rights. Their aim is to ensure that the government sets stricter targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. 100-Hertz tone relieves sickness when traveling

Mexico wants to improve the protection of its coastal forests

The mangroves in the lagoons of the Mexican city of Acapulco have shrunk by more than half since 1979 due to environmental pollution.
