In February 2023, we shared three territorial future thoughts in our blog. Two blog posts are more policy oriented. One reflects on the policy needs of lake regions, and one on policy response to the Ukraine refugee wave. The third blog post is one more in our series on trends shaping territorial cohesion.

Policy pointers for European lake regions. Lake regions are important for Europe´s biodiversity, climate change adaptation, economic prosperity and social well-being. Regional integration, land-lake integration, policy integration, vertical integration & European integration are essential for a better management of large lake regions. Economic trends shaping territorial cohesion. What trends will shape territorial developments and cohesion outlooks in the years to come? This blog post summarises some key findings concerning economic trends. Many of them risk to increase concentration on urban areas with growing territorial imbalances and inequalities, which translate into social fragmentation and increasing discontent.
