  • Planet Reigate (Opens in a new window), a new free weekly podcast, has launched. The work of local resident and broadcaster Peter Stewart, the podcast is a 'magazine-type' production, covering RH1, RH2 and RH3. The first episode included interviews with Run Reigate's Dave Kelly, the pop-up Children's Trust wedding shop in Redhill's Belfry, and the New Leaf zero waste shop and cafe in Woodhatch.

  • Overnight closures on the M25 Junction 8 to 9, clockwise, continue this week Monday to Friday. Generally it's 10pm - 5.30am, but on Friday night it's 11pm - 6am. That's all according to the Highways England website (Opens in a new window) (if you visit, you'll need to filter it on "M25"). The indicated diversion is A25 towards Dorking then A24 and rejoin at Junction 9 (Leatherhead).

  • An "Arts Takeover" week (Opens in a new window) will be running at the Harlequin in Redhill, Saturday 7 - Friday 13 October, offering the chance to try out a wide range of activities including African drums, the ukulele, Morris dancing, photography, jive sessions, belly dancing, crime fiction, adult ballet, crochet, comedy and more. Session prices vary - some are free, but most are £2.

  • To mark National Fitness Day, GLL is offering free classes at its leisure centres on Wednesday 20 September. At Donyngs it's a "power pump" fitness class (Opens in a new window). CEO Peter Bundey said: "No matter your state of fitness, taking small steps to be more active more often will have huge benefits throughout your life – and that journey could start on National Fitness Day when you try something new."

  • The free temporary bus pass (Opens in a new window) that's part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme has been extended to 31 March 2024.
