Film Recommendation

This week, I went back three decades into the filmography of Elia Suleiman – one of the most recognised Palestinian cinematic voices, whose most notable works include Chronicle of a Disappearance, Divine Intervention and The Time That Remains – and found a true hidden gem. Made alongside artist and filmmaker Jayce Salloum in 1990, Introduction to the End of an Argument is a brilliantly edited collage/essay film forged entirely out of found footage fragments, which prompts an introspection on the western stronghold on the global production of cultural meaning as it pertains to the demonisation of anything Arab.
