In the UK, we’re deep into the summertime and the thermometer is apparently going to be teetering close to the 40 degree mark. As such, my movie recommendation for this month is French filmmaker Eric Rohmer’s white hot A Summer’s Tale from 1996, in which a sad boi troubadour played by a Melville Poupard rocks up to the Brittany seaside town of Dinard and wanders around while waiting for his true love to come and meet him.
