A harsh reality?

Jay-Z said it best, ‘Closed Mouths Don’t Get Fed’. If you don’t ask or speak up the reality is you’ll never get what you want. If our careers were based on talent alone it would be great, but that’s just not the case, especially in the creative/ fashion/entertainment industry.

If you want something to happen in your career you have to go after it. Take every opportunity. Don’t get me wrong timing is important and plays a massive part. However, if you need support or want opportunities and rely on people reaching out to you, you’re going to be disappointed often. Just because you speak up doesn’t necessarily mean you get the outcome you want but at least tried.
