UK: Disposable e-cigarettes banned from June

The UK is introducing part of its comprehensive smoking ban: from June 1, disposable e-cigarettes will no longer be allowed to be sold nationwide. The government also plans to stop allowing anyone born in 2009 or later to smoke legally. Source: SKY NEWS

Italian Constitutional Court strengthens the rights of lesbian mothers

In a landmark ruling this week, the Italian Constitutional Court decided that in future, two mothers may be registered on a child's birth certificate. New contact lens enables vision in the dark

Researchers from China have developed a contact lens that enables people to perceive infrared light - even in the dark or with their eyes closed. Wildlife populations in northern Kyrgyzstan are recovering

Northern Kyrgyzstan, a region with great biodiversity, has long been a center for poaching and illegal hunting. Local NGOs are now reporting encouraging progress: The protected areas that have been set up are having an impact.
