What's been happening?

First of all:

We are so lucky to have met Alexander Galler (Opens in a new window), a brilliant photographer and all-round cool guy. He took pics of our last gig at Kramladen which we were super happy with. This is why we also booked him for our press photo shoot.

As we happen to live in the same area, we met up in a recently opened coffee & vintage shop called Cafe Kanopi (Opens in a new window)/ HOLY GARBAGE (Opens in a new window) to discuss everything.

Sipping our coffees, we looked at the shop window (see picture at the end of this newsletter) and an idea popped into our heads: the photos should reflect our upcoming song “Don’t Buy It”, which denounces societal norms, particularly consumerism.

And long story short:

Caro and Kim, the amazing owners of the shop, agreed straight away to let us use their place for the photo shoot! 🤗

We love and fully support second-hand clothes and we adore what they are doing for the grätzl (area) of Währing! Kim and Caro organise art exhibitions, literature and crafts evenings and many more cool things.

Two recording weeks with Mario Fartacek 🎤🥁

But now it’s time to talk music!

We were so delighted to have met Mario last year, who is one of the founders of Assim Records (Opens in a new window), a producer in his own right as well as a talented musician (e.g. Mynth (Opens in a new window), Good Wilson (Opens in a new window) & Bon Jour (Opens in a new window)).

Some important backstory here: in order to finance our album, we’re applying for various grants. Because, like most other artists… we mostly live off canned beans. 💁‍♀️

This is why we decided to record three of our best songs with Mario in the studio first. We’ll release them as singles, and hopefully, the people in charge will like them enough so we can continue recording the full album. 😉

We’ll also be recording the music video for “Don’t buy it” in April and will release the first single in May!

#2 ERNST Unplugged - A secret gig

Save the date - 6th April 2024

As a club member, you can be one of the 25 lucky people who get to experience a secret FREE acoustic gig on 6th April at Cafe Kanopi (1180 Wien). Remember? The place we shot our photos at. 😉 We’ll be playing an exclusive, intimate set and this sis definitely something not to be missed!

And we are not even done yet.
