What does Kiruna look like at night when the sun is shining?
Imagine waking up today and seeing a bright sun that doesn't set until after 100 days
This happens in the far north of Sweden
The northernmost cities in Sweden will see 24 hours of sunshine in northern Sweden, for about 100 days.
We are talking about the “midnight sun”, which the inhabitants of Swedish Lapland witness, a natural phenomenon that occurs in the summer months and means that the sun can be seen even at midnight. In the village of Abisko, north of the Arctic Circle, for example, the sun will remain on the horizon from 25 May through July 20.
In the city of Kiruna, the far north of the Lapland region, the sun will rise on May 27 and then set again on July 14.
