Episode 41: Cup Final And Relegation

Dear listeners,

regular season play is over but the season isn't quite done until we know who won the German FA Cup, the DFB Pokal, and whether the third from the bottom of the first Bundesliga can stay up or if the third best team of the second Bundesliga can make it to the top flight. So we have two matchups: RB Leipzig vs. Eintracht Frankfurt in the cup final and VfB Stuttgart vs. HSV in two relegation matches.
Leipzig looked like a very mature top team and won a mostly boring game 2-0. They also celebrated more maturely and didn't empty cans of Red Bull into the cup like last year, but rather emptied beer bottles on coach Marco Rose.
This was Oliver Glasner's last game in charge of Frankfurt and we're not sure where he will show up next. His english is pretty good, so maybe he'll find a job in the Premier League.
Meanwhile Stuttgart and Hamburg had to fight it out in two games for the last available place in next year's Bundesliga. Let's just say the difference between first and second Bundesliga became apparent and Stuttgart won 6-1 on aggregate. Better luck next year, Hamburg.
