Leverkusen On Top Heading Into The Winter Break

Dear listeners,

Bayer Leverkusen have held on to the top of the table by extending their unbeaten streak to 25 games over all competitions, when they manhandled Christoph’s VfL Bochum 4-0 behind a Patrik Schick hat-trick.

Bayern München without Kimmich and Goretzka came through 2-1 in Wolfsburg, putting former Bayern-coach Niko Kovac’s job there in jeopardy after losing 5 of their last 7 matches.

Number three in the standings is VfB Stuttgart the surprise team of the season so far, who beat Augsburg 3-0 and are playing one of the best campaigns in club history under Sebastian Hoeness’s leadership.

BVB Dortmund on the other hand are having a hard time and are only in fifth place after their draw with lowly Mainz 05. Dortmund is already 6 points behind fourth place Leipzig and coach Edin Terzic and Sporting Director Sebastian Kehl will have to do a lot of soul searching over Christmas.

In the basement, 1. FC Köln are looking like they might need to be looking for a new manager, as Steffen Baumgart has made some remarks regarding his future, that should sound all the alarms. Especially given that his relationship with Sporting Director Keller isn’t the best.
