Former star midfielder Xabi Alonso has turned Bayer Leverkusen into one of the most interesting and fun to watch teams of the Bundesliga, leading them to the Euroleague semi-finals, their biggest international cup success since the famous campaign of 2002, when they lost to Real and Zidane in the finals of the Champions League. Now that Bayern were kicked out by City, Leverkusen are the only German side left in international cup competition. And now that Bayern were kicked out of the Champions League, Oliver Kahn is starting to feel the heat from all those shadowy figures lurking in the background who are not happy with the direction the club is heading in under his rule.
