Episode 56: Deadline Day Shenanigans And Bayer On Top

Dear listeners,

matchday 3 is in the books and all transfer activities have come to an end. Christoph and Raphael will discuss the winners and losers on the pitch and on the transfer market in this episode. Of course the focus is on two losers of the deadline day, Frankfurt and Bayern. Frankfurt are very rich losers, who decided to let go of Kolo Muani for somewhere north of 90 million Euros, even after the german transfer window had closed on friday, meaning they'll have to wait till january to sign a replacement with all that cash. The other deadline losers are Bayern München, who failed to sign Palhinha from Fulham and a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, simply because they ran out of time. Unprofessional much?

On the pitch, Bayern took care of bogey team Gladbach while Frankfurt only managed a 1-1 versus 1. FC Köln. Meanwhile Werder Bremen, who sold striker Niclas Füllkrug to Dortmund, got a 4-0 win over Mainz. Bayer Leverkusen have a perfect 3 and 0 record behind new striker Boniface's scoring and new midfielder Xhaka's steadying presence. The duel of Champions League competitors Union and RB saw RB win rather easily after Berlin's newly acquired striker Kevin Volland was sent off half an hour before the end.

Enjoy!
