We Need A #NewsRevolution
My name is Brett Spangler, and I’m a college student from the Midwest. I started this podcast for one reason: I was tired of the media covering the 2020 world like it was 1985. I don't want to follow the "if it bleeds it leads" rule of putting gloom and doom stories first, or to see puff pieces that take advantage of people's emotions, or to cover a reality TV host playing president as if the things he says are normal. Plus, all these unnecessary stories just waste the viewer's time, something that we don't have a lot of to start with.
I'm dedicated to giving you only the news you need to know in under 20 minutes, and in many cases much less than that. I'm never going to add filler stories just to meet some certain time goal. I want you to be informed and to see the bigger picture about why these stories matter instead of watching news about car crashes or a robbery just because they're violent.
Most importantly, though I offer opinions and analysis, I always start by reporting the facts first. We all need news we can trust, from someone we trust.
