FOUNDER OF POLYESTER, IONE GAMBLE

BOOK: All The Houses I’ve Ever Lived In by Kieran Yates. This book is so special - a narrative look at class in the UK told via the many family homes the author grew up in; from a car sales room to now condemned estates. Kieran writes with a warmth and joy that is so often devoid from discussions based around housing and working class people. The book manages to have taught me ten million things while also making me fall in love with Kieran and her family - weaving together activism with storytelling in the most gorgeous way.

BOOK: I just read I'm A Fan by Sheena Patel and it was incredible!! Really specific, current references but done in a way that's not cringe or overthought. Only 200 pages too so a nice and easy one to get through.

JUNIOR EDITOR, CHARLOTTE AMY LANDRUM

FILM: 9 to 5 (1980). For some reason they had this on American Airlines and I'm so thankful they did! The dream sequences are incredible and Dolly Parton is obviously incredible too.

CULTURE EDITOR, MISHA MN

FILM: I went to a cinema screening of Sally Potter’s Orlando, which is now 30 years old and it was amazing, very exciting and powerful to see on the big screen. Trans-historical gender fluidity at its finest, star-making performance from Tilda Swinton and incredible costumes from Sandy Powell. Other standout performances include Quentin Crisp as Elizabeth I, and Jimmy Somerville as a singing angel.

MUSIC: The avant-garde New York 90s Blacklips Performance Cult have released a compilation record of some of their musical performances called Blacklips Bar: Androgyns and Deviants - Industrial Romance for Bruised and Battered Angels, 1992-1995. I love anything that has at least three names. Interesting aural mix of some truly astonishing living icons including ANOHNI, Johanna Constantine, Diamanda Galas and Joey Arias. Also a great track from John Waters star Edith Massey called Punks, Get Off The Grass.

TV: Rewatching Ryan Murphy’s Halston on Netflix, enjoying it more the second time round. Really great portrayals of Liza Minnelli and Elsa Peretti, a bringing of some forgotten underground icons back to the forefront like Warhol film star and fashion muse Pat Ast, and the artist, hustler and window dresser Victor Hugo. Also features a glimpse of some of the iconic New York old school fashionistas like Babe Paley, who I think will feature prominently in Murphy’s upcoming Feud follow up series, which focuses on Truman Capote’s Swans, the incredibly wealthy socialite elite of the 50s and 60s.

BOOK: I just read Love, Pamela which was stunning and gorgeous and everyone needs to lay off the queen and give her the respect she deserves 😤

FILM: I watched Slums of Beverly Hills because I’m on a Natasha Lyonne hype, it’s a coming of age film starring the ledge and it’s very relatable for anyone who found being a teen girl confusing

MUSIC: Cailin Russo’s album INFLUX, I’ve had boys taste like drugs stuck in my head since I first heard it
