Film Recommendation
The Addams Family (1991)
Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld
First off, just to say a massive THANK YOU to all the new members who have joined since our relaunch. We’re so happy to have you aboard and we hope you have fun with these weekly recommendations. Also, we mentioned that we have a special partnership offering in development, well that’s true, it’s related to these weekly missives, and we’ll be launching it officially next week, so stay tuned.
Okay, okay, down to business… I know you’re probably all here for the deep cuts and the obscurities, but I’m here this week to sound the horn for an utterly delightful picture that, upon a recent rewatch, had me rolling on the floor with laughter. Barry Sonnenfeld’s The Addams Family is a live-action family comedy (you don’t really see those any more?) with icky practical effects, wonderfully OTT performances, and a screenplay to literally die for.
