WORKSHOP: Refining Your Commercial Portfolio with Photographer Blacksocks 

Join BRICKS Magazine & London-based photographer and director Amir Hossain (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) aka Blacksocks for a 60-minute online workshop on developing your portfolio to attract commercial clients and internationally-renowned artists.

Amir Hossain (S'ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre) aka Blacksocks is a visionary young photographer & director whose bold and playful imagery is making waves within music, entertainment and advertising. Imbuing each frame with a distinct and dynamic energy, Amir brings his subjects to life with vibrant colour, inventive art direction and idiosyncratic compositions.

Having crafted iconic visual identities for globally renowned artists such as Arlo Parks, Beabadoobee, and The 1975, Amir is also an emerging voice within the brand world. His burgeoning portfolio boasts campaigns for the likes of Converse, Superdry, and Dr. Martens, not to mention his own independent fashion label Phug.

Amir was recognised as Most Promising Photographer at the 2022 Creative Circle Awards and his directing work – both solo and in collaboration with Soren Harrison under the pseudonym Bedroom – garnered a Best New Director nomination at the 2021 UK Music Video Awards.

Amir has worked with clients including ASOS, Dr. Martens, Converse, Beats by Dre, The British Library, Liverpool Football Club, Superdry, Minor Figures, Hendrick’s Gin, The North Face, Gucci, Rolling Stone and Tinder, and has worked with artists such as Renao, Arlo Parks, Lava La Ru and Kasabian.
