A blast from the past.

Something Vintage (Öffnet in neuem Fenster) is an online store for lovers of smaller vintage treasures, decorations, accessories, tableware and other antique objects. With Something Vintage, I would like to spark interest and joy in vintage and to relieve the environment of frequent new purchases. I hope not only to show people the beautiful side of secondhand shopping but make it more popular as well.

Besides secondhand shopping, I also have another exciting project going on. I collect old books in very bad shape and salvage damaged hardcovers to upcycle them and turn them into beautiful vintage notebooks, journals or sketchbooks. I would like to save these books from the throwaway society. Books should not land in the trash, we can always give them a new meaning.

The environmental benefits of upcycling are huge. In addition to minimizing the volume of discarded materials and waste that goes to landfill each year, it also reduces the need for production with new or raw materials, which means a reduction in air pollution, water pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. Upcycling has, of course, personal benefits as well. When you upcycle, you have the personal benefit of knowing that you are taking steps to promote a healthier environment. However, upcycling is also a very inventive process. It allows you to turn trash into treasure with a bit of creativity.

Although I am passionate about this project, it takes a lot of time. A time that I could use to expand and make the website more customer-friendly. But as is so often the case with heart projects, you invest this time because you believe in a good cause.
