ONEIRIC.SPACE is a research platform dedicated to exploring our relationship to dreams and the unconscious through an interdisciplinary lens. It consists of the online magazine www.oneiric.space, a monthly newsletter, events and special projects. Founded in 2019 by writers Charmaine Li and Effie Efthymiadi, ONEIRIC.SPACE aims to spark more dialogue about dreams and how they intertwine with our waking lives.
~ WHY ~ Everyone dreams regularly, whether we remember our dreams or not. The images and ideas that emerge in our sleep may be an expression of fantasies, fears, memories, illusions, anticipations, anxieties, absurdities, fleeting thoughts and many other aspects of our (inner) lives. Dreams have been – and still are – an inherent part of our world. And yet, they are often dismissed as frivolous because of their complexity and talking about them can be considered a drag. WWW.ONEIRIC.SPACE is an online magazine that explores our relationship to dreams and the unconscious through intimate interviews with individuals from the worlds of art, culture, science, philosophy and beyond. Each interview is designed to correspond to the content of the conversation and the dream-related material provided by the interviewee. In that sense, each interview is a sui generis, a stand-alone cosmos, unlike anything else that exists on the site.
~ HELP US REMAIN INDEPENDENT ~ We spend a lot of time, energy and love into creating WWW.ONEIRIC.SPACE, which remains free and ad-free. All funds raised from a monthly subscription to our Steady community will allow us to continue our work supporting our contributing designers and artists as well as to keeping the project going. We plan on publishing one in-depth interview with a tailored design and user experience on our online magazine 3 times a year, sending a newsletter with dream-related news + resources once a month and host occasional events (when we have the resources to do so). Sign up to our newsletter to stay updated on what's new. Joining our Steady community means you'll be part of a community of backers helping us continue to keep this project independent. You'll also get early access to new interviews, events and special projects. Thank you! Every little bit makes a difference <3
